FAQs
How do I get there?
We have shuttle buses leaving from Auckland to accommodate all campers, but if you wish to make your own way there, you may also do so
Can I bring a child?
Unfortunately no children can be on our camp, it is R18 (some exceptions may apply, just ask us!) but if your family or child wishes to come, you will just have to arrange other accommodation nearby.
What day do I need to arrive / leave?
The shuttle will leave Auckland at approx 9am, and if you are making alternative transport arrangements, you just need to ensure that you are at the camp by midday.
How much money do I need to bring?
It’s totally up to you and your budget! You will have a bit of free time each day, and you may do what you like. There will be activities and gear for hire from our base camp such as surf lessons, kayaks, snorkels, and paddleboards. So bring money to suit your budget for activities. See our retreat page to know exactly what is included in your fee.
Can I bring my wife/husband who doesn’t train?
Yes, they’re most welcome but ticket price is the same regardless if you participate in the training. Otherwise they may arrange alternative accommodation nearby.
What about lunch and dinner?
Breakfasts are supplied each morning before training. We will also supply a BBQ dinner for the first evening, and our afternoon on the Catamaran will conclude with a feast. Also included is a packed lunch for our walk up the Pinnacles. Apart from those, you may do what you like for lunches and dinner, based on your budget. The base camp will have plenty of BBQ’s for you to use, and kitchens if you wish to make your own food. Or you may want to go out and experience some of the amazing cafes and restaurants in the area.
FAQs
Is there a supermarket near the gym?
Yes!
Is there a minimum age for participation?
It is an R18 camp, but some exceptions may be made for younger, provided they are supervised by a guardian who also attends the camp.
Do you have WiFi connection?
Yes!
I'll be nearby during the dates of the camp. Can I drop in for just one day / one class / one open mat?
Unfortunately, this isn't possible. The logistics of trying to keep track of day tickets for these camps would be a nightmare. Not to mention that if we allow one person to drop by, we have to allow everyone to drop by, and then we'd risk not having enough mat space for the people who actually paid for the full camp.
Is there an option for vegetarian food?
Of course! We cater to all our herbivore friends
How many gis should I bring?
There will be a mix of Gi and No Gi, but we would suggest 2 Gi’s. Don’t be smelly Gi guy….
FAQs
Will I be allowed to film during the camp?
Yes, but always check with the instructor beforehand.
I'm a complete beginner, can I still join?
Of course! Even more reason to!
Is this just a BJJ camp?
OSS (yes)
When will there be training?
We have two trainings per day, one at 9am, the other at 4pm.
